Dr. McKelvey moved to Twain Harte in 1986 after graduating from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Prior to dentistry, he was a high school biology and chemistry teacher in Southern California. He shares time between Sierra Orthodontics in Sonora and Twain Harte Family Dental Care . He opened Sierra Orthodontics in 2000 with Dr. Emery to take care of the community's orthodontic needs. Dr. McKelvey enjoys dentistry and orthodontics but has had the opportunity to share his skills throughout the world, most recently in Tonga, Vanuatu, Mexico, China and India. Dr. McKelvey has also had the privilege of lecturing on dental materials, dental techniques and orthodontics in Shenyang, China.
